Technical questions...
Q How
long does it take the machine to prepare the slush for serving?
A.
Freezing time varies according to ambient temperature and whether or
not the water and concentrates have been premixed and prechilled. All
times are estimates based on our experience. ROOM TEMPERATURE WATER and
CONCENTRATE takes approx 45 minutes for slush to freeze. CHILLED WATER
with warm Concentrate takes approx. 25 minutes for slush to freeze.
CHILLED WATER & SLUSH PRE-MIXED takes approx 17 minutes for slush
to freeze.
Q.
How many temperature settings are on the machine?
A. There
are two settings 1. Refrigerate 2. Freeze The thermostat is adjustable
to suit your climatic conditions and the type of product being used in
the machine. This would usually be set by our installer and not changed
a\unless circumstances changed.
Q.
How many serves of slush in a case?
A. 1
Case of slush produces approximately 333 serves. (That’s 2 x 5 litre
bottles at 5:1 mix ratio and allowing for 10% freezing expansion) Q How
many serves does a Twin bowl slush machine contain? A Approximately 120
serves (7oz / 175ml cups) at any given moment but the machine should
always have a minimum of approx 4-5 litres in it to protect the
machine. Topping up once the product level drops below the minimum
line, or when the freezing chamber is visible is always recommended.
Once the level drops below this level it is advised to turn that bowl
down to refridgerate to stop over freezing and prevent damage to the
machine.
Q.
How often should I clean the Slush Machine?
A.
Weekly cleaning is recommended. At a minimum once a fortnight. For
school canteens we suggest you clean and rotate the flavours once a
fortnight. Once a fortnight do one bowl then the other week do the
other bowl. Milk based frappes should be changed and bowls cleaned
every few days when a new batch is made up.
Product questions...
Q.
Are all your flavours approved by NSW Canteens?
A.
All but one of our Fruizia flavours are currently approved ‘Amber’
under the NSW Canteens’ Healthy Kids scheme. The only flavour that
isn’t approved is Cola, only for the reason that NSW Canteens cannot
approve the name. If we called it Koala flavour they would be happy to
approve it.
